Homestuck Re-read Part 55: ACT 6 INTERMISSION 5 INTERMISSION 4!!!
It's not drunk Jade today, yaaaaaaay. That means there might be non-ballmers peak fueled progress on my web server. For some reason I've started working on my own shitty RPC / plugin system thing so that'll be fun. I say that but I did just have some rather concerning thoughts about implementing some later features but lets just see how things go. No hangover today, which is a nice improvement. If this doesn't work out what I might do is just use build flags for plugins and just have a core software + core plugins and then the 'official' build instructions are to just mix em all together or smth stupid.

Homestuck
Oooo spooky glowing damage to the furthest ring around the green sun. Again.
Vriska and her crew are still sailing the high seas of paradox space. John is wondering how Aradia feels about the plan, but she seems mostly just along for the ride. She explains she sees this less about good/bad but it's more about the natural order of things. All loops must close, even Lord English's and the dream bubbles. English is destroying the bubbles while the ghosts in the dream bubble prepare to terminate lord English's existence and stop his inertia. But really, she's just along for the ride
TWO RINGS
Aranea begins to tell us a story of two obscure and legendary rings. Supposedly less powerful then ones wore by the kings and queens of prospit and derse, but far more mysterious. Rings of Life and Void. Identical in appearance, but divergent in origin and power. The ring of void allows someone to disappear into obscurity, while the ring of life can raise ghosts from death.
Aranea is interrupted by Vriska shoving a finger in her mouth. She is very upset with Tavros for loosing the ring earlier. It looks like Tav never told her John had it. Vriska's anger towards Tavros is starting to make him question being a part of her crew. So much that he just leaves. In fact her whole crew starts to fall apart.
We also learn Vriska knows fuck all about the navy.
VRISKA: I thought a rear admiral was like...
VRISKA: Some sort of JOKE rank!
VRISKA: Who can take a rear admiral seriously? It might as well 8e a poopmaster!
Sollux, Nepeta and Feferi float away. I've just made a decision[^1] about my web server.
John reveals he has the ring. He'll think about giving it to Vriska. He even seems to have soured on Vriska quite a bit, compared to the last few times he saw / talked about her. Especially when he thought she was still alive. I also remember that Vriska matured a lot in the dream bubbles which, seems to have not really happened? Or if it did, it hasn't happened yet which is somewhat surprising to me.
He's realizing she isn't what he had always imagined her to be. He didn't understand properly and he gave her too much benefit of the doubt, but now he sees her for how a lot of other characters do: Vriska is a dangerous person. It might not be her fault, but she is. He agrees to stick around a little longer though. To see what the treasure is.
Vriska recalls some details about the treasure quickly. A weapon once used by Lord English, irreparably changed to now only be usable against Lord English. It was locked away out in the void of paradox space, furthest from all places. A conceptual point nemo in causality. She monologues for a moment. Her ends justify her means, pressing ghosts into acting as bait for Lord English will be worth it to her, even if whatever historian scholars of paradox space condemn her for it.
MEANWHILE
Rose is drunk and hanging out with the mayor. She is preserving the history of can town while drunk when she should be preparing to arrive in the new session while sober! Rose seems to have really developed a problem. She's been drinking "Chronically And Habitual(ly)" and even promised she wouldn't be drunk at arrival. She is really into the mayor while drunk. Which is understandable, the mayor is cool. Rose doesn't think she has a problem with alcohol, so she can't be helped. Not yet, anyway.
Kanaya gets incredibly frustrated and begins her godzilla impression.
ACT 6 INTERMISSION 5 INTERMISSION 4
Caliborn wants more answers, and definitely no information about anyone lusting over his 'frog men'. He's unlocked the tailor now and a few more guys.
We get another flash, this time of Kurloz stealing Vriska's coat. This ends today's upd8. Thank you and good bye.
[^1]: I have just decided I'm going to go with the 'bundle everything together as one big executable using build flags' approach. My weird RPC thing is cool but like. Ehhhh. I don't want to introduce stupid amounts of complexity just for a bit of purity. And I want this project to eventually like, end, yknow.
