Homestuck Re-read Part 50: ACT 6 ACT 5 ACT 1.

Give it up for day 50! Almost 2 months-ish of homestuck!

I'm starting this really late because I wanted to play minecraft, I'm playing a modpack based around automaton and I'm finally starting to setup my first automations (because I just wasn't gelling with the way you're supposed to do the first set to start with because of my awful brain.) I might take some screenshots at some point for a separate blog series or something? Who knows.

GHOST CALLIOPE!

Last we left off Roxy was about to turn around to face the cherub behind her. She's wearing her trollsona cosplay for the meeting, since Calliope thinks cherubs look terrifying and repulsive to humans. The dream bubble seems to be acting like a black hole, keeping Calliope safe from Caliborn as long as she never strays too far from the center by not allowing information to leak. They start to catch up a little, starting with Roxy learning Calliope is dead.

Calli also informs Roxy about the ongoing attempts at Operation Kill Lord English and how one faction is searching for her thinking she is the ultimate weapon to kill Caliborn. She needs them to fail until she also finds herself, just from a dead timeline where she achieved complete predomination over her brother. Our Calli thinks this legendary Calli is the actual ultimate weapon to kill Caliborn, but she's also deep in hiding. Beyond that, Roxy and the alpha kids need to keep preparing to win at sburb and, more pressingly, prepare for some kind of big throw down tomorrow. They need to consider god tiering.

Calli also tells Roxy that she's been captured by the Condense, likely to try and extract something from her using her void powers. She recoils in terror because of something behind them. Rose somehow found them? The fact there is a light player in her haven immediately begins to stress Calli out. It's an existential threat to her safe haven and herself by extension, so she forces them both to wake up.

Roxy wakes up in a Dersite jail. Theres a folder on the floor containing a large amount of glitter as well as an impossible task that isn't worth considering. A ring, a calling card and a phone are slipped through the door. She hacks the phone for unrestricted communication and tries to raise Dirk for assistance. We learn the ring gives her powers, she's become intangible to walls as well as invisible to eyes. She starts relaying what Calliope told her before stopping to check if Dirk is actually paying attention since he doesn't seem like it. She then works out she's been talking to Lil Hal Junior, Lil Hal's autoresponder.

Lil Hal and Dirk seem to be getting into a bit of a fight. Lil Hal tells Dirk Roxy can wait so they can keep talking about his Jake problems. Dirk seems like he's getting close to killing Lil Hal, but Lil Hal wants to be prototyped into his kernelsprite. He's so frustrated with Lil Hal and the parts of himself he represents that he's about to snap the glasses. Lil Hal starts to beg for his life.

Gamzee is evidently nearby, because while that conversation was happening...

The promise is fulfilled anyway. ARquiusprite is born. Unlike Jane and Jake's sprites, ARQUIUSPRITE seems to love life.

We rejoin Roxy on Derse. She proceeds to speculate about the practicalities of fucking a carapacean before reminding him about his blunder with Jane and problems with Dirk. Good thing he doesn't seem to be reading his messages. He's trying to cover up his tattoo. Instead, he proceeds to answer Caliborn. He seeks the talk of gentlemen and not of 'shrill bitches' with uncontrolled emotions and feelings and such. He thinks that Dirk and Jake are real winners but Roxy and Jane are feckless hoes. Caliborn feels a special connection with Jake, he thinks that Jake isn't stupid he just needs more time, like himself. He can achieve anything, it's just going to take him a lot of effort.

Caliborn is offering pro-bono free unpaid advice in the hopes of raising a worthy challenger to one day fight him. He even draws him a commemorative desktop wallpaper. This is gonna be gay as hell. He tells Jake some stuff about what he thinks being the Lord of Time is about. Mainly that it's power is just, inertia. He will win because he has been winning. Step 1 and 2 to this new partnership: Get gifted a JuJu and die on a quest slab. He also starts explaining the juju to Jake, and that it can be combined with his sister's (which is missing) to become even more powerful. He also explains they have the same clown fella around and that he's a horrible invincible creature unaccountable to paradox space due to being a clown.

He's giving the JuJu away because he's got something new. Lil Cal. He previously feared him because he didn't understand him. He's empty of energy now, but will one day be filled. A hideous curse will grow inside it, but Caliborn shouldn't fear it. It's his curse, after all. His soul gazes out through Lil Cal's eyes, across all of time and space.

WOW REMEMBER WHEN I USED TO USE HEADERS?

Back to Jane. All alone. She wanders around for a bit before putting on the mind control headband to answer Jake's messages. He wants to give her Caliborn's JuJu but keeps fucking up the captcha. She then gets one last message from Calliope. Naturally, she gives Jane her JuJu and the code is the same but with inverted capitals. The sobbing gets worse. Followed by something... flashy. Another mind control attempt from the Condense before she throws the band onto the floor. Roxy monologs more while trying to reach Jane, who is busy alchemetizing(?) the JuJu. The Empress interjects at the last moment, she knows Roxy flew the jail.

The JuJus are. Lollypop sticks? Or as the UI tells us, "Suckers." They seem to attract magnetically to form just the one spiral sucker. She is unable to resist licking.

She engages. Trickster mode. I. Vaguely remember this part from when I read homestuck the first time, but mainly not, getting it. She is suddenly sparkly and candy themed. It seems to confer a large amount of power, bringing half her planet to life and letting her fly off to end Act 6 Act 5 Act 1.

I cannot wait to read this part. I have no actual memories of what happens between the start and end of trickster mode.
