Homestuck Re-read Part 3: Rose ! ! !

A whole two days without homestuck... Oh well, at least the pause is over now. Finally I can return to my reread from other various weekend-ly activities, like watching the sopranos and such.

I didn't actually realize the upd8s were going to be weekday only, so after a little bit I might condense these posts down into being weekly updates on my reread. Partly because I have other things I want to do and the flexibility to not need to:

  1. Read Homestuck
  2. Write Shit
  3. Have Someone Read It
  4. Post

ever day would be useful. Also I don't want to run my friend Serena into the ground by asking her to make sure I didn't fail at writing coherently constantly.

Anyway, Homestuck!

Rose!!!

Rose!!! The second beta kid is finally introduced. The first Lalonde of many. We go through much of the same rigamarole during introduction. The odd (but much less childish this time) fake name, the attempt at collecting arms, refusing to debase them self. It would be really weird to read Homestuck without the knowledge that many of these were prompts submitted by readers as it was being created. It would be foolish to not include that detail when explaining Homestuck.

What a haunting refrain on the violin.

Data Structures

We can see more inventory shenanigans begin to take place, as Rose captchalogues a third item, causing her fetch modus of tree to being rebalancing the deck. The laptop cannot be removed without removing all of it's leaf nodes, as seen here. Nothing bad will come from this, I'm sure.

Rain, Rain, Go Away. Come again another day

Taking a moment away from John's impending doom, Rose observes the skies in her observatory.. A hole in the cloud layer presents a cascade of meteors falling to earth. An unfortunate part of the process of Sburb, events not yet transpired spell death for the earth as punishment for an inevitable failure.

John is, quite understandably, panicked. Rose persuades him to try and create the item on the provided punched card by using the lathe'd cruxite dowel with the alchemiter.

An apple.

END OF ACT 1.

Surely all the acts of homestuck will be of equal length. We are left to wonder if John bit the apple, did he survive. Of course he bit the apple, of course he will survive. Reading for the first time however, this is where things start to ramp up. I know a lot of people don't think homestuck is good until the trolls are introduced, but I do not get that. I love the trolls, but the mysteries of Sburb and Homestuck are what always drew me in.
